Career opportunity exists in a leading financial institution of the Chinese Mainland. The position is based in Hong Kong. The incumbent will be:
- responsible for technology vision, understanding of business and hands-on leadership for developing, implementing and supporting IT solutions;
- work closely with headquarters IT in Beijing and regional business leaders to set IT strategy to meet the company's strategic goals;
- responsible for maximizing staff productivity and growth under the functional management of IT;
- lead Trading Floor Technical Support Engineers, prioritize assignments, manage internal customer issues and workload;
- report to Head of Application Development and Trading System; assist IT management in Beijing regarding budget control and business plan formulation for technical support operations;
- develop, implement and evaluate operations, policies, procedures, strategies and goals in assigned areas of responsibilities;
- initiate cross-team collaboration to promote organizational effectiveness;
- research, analyze and recommend cost effective improvement in operations;
- organize internal training programs towards Technical Support, Systems and Field Engineering staff;
- design, administer and evaluate IT programs and services;
- negotiate and administer contracts and agreements for IT professional services, software and hardware;
- serve as a mentor of local IT staff.
Requirements:
- possess and apply a comprehensive knowledge of the following:
- management and leadership principles;
- IT application software development and administration principles and practices;
- IT program and project management principles;
- communication, interpersonal skills required, particularly when exchanging, conveying ideas with peers and following instructions from supervisors;
- leverage 3rd-party resources for the IT organization;
- analyze and develop policies and procedures;
- manage consultant contracts;
- manage change and sensitive topics;
- plan, analyze and evaluate policies, services, operational needs and fiscal constraints;
- fluent communication in both English and Mandarin required;
- work experience in the financial industry, preferably from securities firms.
